São Miguel

 

On São Miguel tour we visit the highest hill in the vicinity of Faro, which was used by the ancient navigators as an orientation point. From the top of the hill we can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view over the entire Ria Formosa natural park and the cities around Faro. From the top of its 500m of altitude we can inclusive see Spain!

The route to the hill is made by secondary roads where we can observe a little bit of the fauna and flora of Algarve's country and mountain side, as well as the typical houses of the region with their beautiful chimneys and platibands, getting a slightly different notion of this region, generally more associated with its inviting beaches.
